Conservation and Land Management RTD50102 Diploma of Conservation and Land Management
» Location: Education Centre Gippsland McMillan campuses at Nerrena Road, Leongatha and South Road, Warragul
» Course Description:
The course is delivered on 4 weekend workshops over the year for two years (usually one unit per workshop). Most of the work is carried out at home but there are tutorials available for each unit so students can meet with the trainer for more information and assistance with assignments.
The Diploma of Conservation and Land Management (CLM) is a course designed to develop the skills and knowledge at the Officer level in the Conservation and Land Management industry. One would expect positions such as Land Care Officers, Environment Officers with councils or similar government authorities.

» Duration: The course is generally completed over two years but may be completed in one year.
» Commencement: The Diploma of CLM is run out of the Lerongatha and Warragul campuses. The first workshop for Leongatha is on the 20th and 21st February. The first workshop at Warragul is on the 27th and 28th February, 2010.
» Cost: For Government funded places a maximum tuition fee of $1,500.00 plus a Student Amenity fee of 40c per nominal unit hour.
» Essentials/Prerequisites: Previous industry experience or be working in the industry
» Pathways:
Graduates may gain work in reserves as rangers, with council or similar government authorities as officers, with weed control contractors or other bushland restoration companies working with minimum supervision preparing reports and supervising projects or can continue on to complete a degree (eg. Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Management)
» Recognition of Prior Learning/Credit Transfers:
Students wishing to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning need to indicate this on the Enrolment Form. RPL Application forms are available from the Course Co ordinator
