Community College Gippsland is Gippsland’s own not for profit Registered Training Organisation, operating from ten locations across Gippsland and South East Melbourne. It is a rapidly growing organisation committed to providing locally based high quality learning opportunities in partnership with industry and the community.
Community College Gippsland provides over 110 courses ranging from Certificate II through to Advanced Diploma level courses in Management, HR, Project Management, Business, Financial Services, Horticulture, Arboriculture, Agriculture, Aged Care, Children’s Services, Disability Services, Youth Work, Education Support, Hair, Beauty, Retail, IT and Hospitality training. Community College Gippsland is highly committed to providing opportunities for adults and young people to develop their literacy, numeracy and communication skills and provides intensive supports for people who may have a disability to transition successfully into employment.

Community College Gippsland is governed by a Board of Directors, who as individuals and as a Board, are committed to providing opportunities for the growth and development of learning. The Board meets monthly.

Desktop Publishing
Business cards, letterheads, booklets, brochures, flyers; these are just some of the desktop publishing we can create for your business or personal needs.
Finishing
Add those important finishing touches to your documents. Stapling, folding, guillotining, hole punching and binding (wire, plastic or cloth) - we do the lot.
Laminating
Laminating of all sizes is available, from pocket laminating for small items such as Business Cards through to Posters up to 740mm wide. Community College Gippsland Copy Centre uses only quality laminate to keep your documents protected.
Scanning
We can scan text and graphics (photos) onto computer disk or paper. Originals up to A3 size can be scanned in full colour. High speed black & white scanning at 60 pages per minute is also available.
Public Access Computer use
Public also have access to ‘do it yourself’ facilities including photocopier, public access computers and workspace. Public Access computer facilities are located at Community College Gippsland Copy Centre.

July 2009 marked the establishment of Education Centre Gippsland Community College (ECG College). ECG College was founded to meet the educational needs of rural students who desire an educational pathway outside the conventional system. ECG College caters exclusively for senior secondary students, studying for The Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL).
Classes are small to provide students with opportunities for individual assistance and to provide individual pathways to the future. The school aims for a total enrolment of 30 students. Trust, respect for others and self-help are keystones to learning and these are developed through a course offering VCAL at all levels.

Our program of learning included:
VETiS program - as part of the VCAL program students also participate in a Vocational Education Training In School (VETiS) program. Programs our students are able to participate in included:
-Certificate II in Business
-Certificate II in Community Services (Childcare stream)
-Certificate II Stable hand
-Certificate II Agriculture (Construction)
-Certificate II Hair
Camp: A four day camp was enjoyed by students and staff to Mt Baw Baw. Activities that were enjoyed included skiing, snowboarding, tobogganing, photography, cooking and much more.
Excursions and Guest speakers:
Through out the year excursions and guest speakers to and from the following organisations added to the varied and engaging curriculum:
-Centrelink
-Police
-Headspace
-Westpac
-Melbourne and Monash Uni’s
-Volunteering Baw Baw
-Yallorn Open Cut
Work skills program.
One day a week is dedicated to gaining work skills through hands on work placements. Placements included childcare centres, mechanical workshops, retail outlets and farms.
Elective subjects that were offered included:
-Welding
-Art
-Information Technology
-Music
-Creative choices
-Cooking
Senior Secondary Outcomes:
For the year ending 2010 ECG College delivered VCAL to 41 students 15 of these students have been awarded their VCAL certificate.
Post School Destinations
Of the 41 students
-16 have gone onto further education
-7 have gained an apprenticeships or traineeships
-11 have returned to do the ECG College in 2011
-4 have entered the workforce

What is YEP?
YEP is a program to help young people to gain and remain in work. It is designed to assist young people from Drouin and District. The program will assist local employers to source employees, particularly young people.
Who is eligible for YEP?
Any young person aged 15 to 21 years who resided in Drouin and district or attended a Drouin school. Providing the young person is not in permanent full-time employment they are eligible to receive assistance for the YEP.
Local employers can gain assistance from the YEP, particularly if they wish to employ young people.
How do you join YEP?
- You can join voluntarily or be referred by Centrelink,
- Your Job Network or other relevant agencies.
YEP can help you with:
Individual case management, resume writing, job application assistance, job search facilities, vocational training courses, assistance with work requirements, on-going support once placed in employment.

Board of Directors & Chief Executive Officer Profiles
Board membership as at June 2009 is:
Cheryl Glowrey - [CHAIR]
B.A., Grad.Dip.Ed., Grad. Dip (Read. & Lang), M.Litt. (Aust. Hist), M.Ed.
Cheryl is Principal of South Gippsland Secondary College. Cheryl is currently undertaking PhD studies in environmental history and has published a book on the history of Snake Island in Corner Inlet, Gippsland.
Cheryl has completed a period as a member of the Board of the Victorian Qualifications Authority (VQA). She is a member of the Gippsland Adult Community and Further Education Regional Council.
Cheryl is a member of the Monash University’s Advisory Committee regarding Rural Health Initiatives in Gippsland. She is also a representative on the Round Table for a joined up government initiative in the Foster/Yarram region of South Gippsland.
Cheryl is a member of the Rotary Club of Foster and the Foster and District Historical Society.
Cheryl joined the Board in 2001 and elected as Chairperson in 2004.
Graham Paynter AM – [DEPUTY CHAIR]
Graham has been involved in dairy farming for over 45 years. Graham has held the positions of Chair, Rural Training Council of Australia, National Industry Steering Committee and Primary Skills Victoria as well as being a panel member for the Kirby Review.
Graham is a member of Gippsland Regional Adult Community and Further Education (ACFE) Council, Farm Innovation Council, Council for Standards in Agri. Industry, National Farmers Federation Agri. Industry Promotion Group and Chair of the Fairview Village Board.
Graham joined the Board in 2003.
Peter Campbell
B.Sc., Dip.Ed. Dip. Ed. Admin.
Peter is currently Head of House at St Paul’s Anglican Grammar. He was formerly a Secondary School Teacher, Deputy Principal and then Principal (Warragul High School) and Assistant Principal (Warragul Regional College). Peter’s key interests are in Finance, Marketing and Adult Education.
Peter joined the Board in 1988 and was Chair from 1988 - 1992 and was granted Life Membership in 1998.
Jenny Carmichael
Jenny is Westpac Bank Business Manager for West Gippsland/Warragul area and has been involved in the Financial Services Industry for over 25 years. Jenny has been posted at Warragul since 1993 and specialises in Business & Rural lending. Jenny is very well networked into the rural business community.
Jenny joined the Board in 2000.
Mavis Gallienne, AO
Mavis brings to the Board a wealth of experience and knowledge of the aged and disability sector, working with volunteers, staff and management.
Mavis is currently on the Board of the Motor Neurone Disease Association of Victoria and has previous experience as a Board member in the not for profit sector at local, state, national and international levels.
Mavis received her AO in recognition for her work with vision impaired people. Mavis is a past Service Director for Vision Australia, Gippsland.
Mavis joined the Board in 2000.
Julie Ettery
B.A. (Psychology & Humanities), B. Social & Community Welfare
Julie is a Primary Teacher but has spent most of her adult life as a dairy farmer. Julie is a past Branch Secretary of United Dairy Victoria (UDV) and of school councils at Seaview, Hallston and Mirboo North.
Julie has served for several years on the State Board of VICCSO and for a year as their representative on the Country Ed Project.
Julie joined the Board in 2006.
Des Williams
Dip. Ag. Sc.
Des is currently the Centre Leader at the Department of Primary Industries Ellinbank facility and has a 30 year background in the agriculture sector which has included two years overseas and has extensive experience in organisational management and development.
In his position Des is involved in career development projects such as mentoring and leadership programs for young scientists.
A long standing resident of Warragul, Des has been a member of various Warragul community organisations.
Des joined the Board in 2007.
Kim Rielly
Kim is a Business Manager for BankWest Gippsland and has been involved in the Financial Services Industry for 22 years.
Kim has been posted at BankWest Traralgon for the last two years where she specialises in Business Lending and prior has worked in Gippsland since 1995.
Kim was co-opted to the Board in 2009.
Vivienne Helps
Bachelor of Arts (1977)
Graduate Diploma of Education (1978)
Vivienne is currently the Senior Marketing Consultant, International Marketing Students for Melbourne Institute of Technology. Vivienne has 14 years experience developing projects and marketing International students into the TAFE sector. Additionally, Vivienne has vast experience in consultancy and management within TAFE Institutes.
Vivienne joined the Board in 2010.
